Each participant has to do his/her own registration. It is not possible to register two or more people within one ordering process.

§ 1 Scope and vendor 

These general terms and conditions are valid for all bookings, placed by individuals via the Online-Shop of TU Bergakademie Freiberg, 09599 Freiberg.

§ 2 Conditions of Purchase 

Your use of this site and the sale and purchase of any items are governed by the terms of use of the site and these conditions of purchase. By using the site, you are agreeing to these conditions.

§ 3 Services

The Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering, hereinafter referred to as IEC, renders services according to the event description in the respective valid event programme. The IEC reserves the right to change lecturers or to modify the programme schedule in exceptional cases.

§ 4 Registration, Confirmation, Ordering

Please register via our WEBSHOP. Onsite registration is available from 3rd of June 2018 starting with the Welcome Evening & Reception at the InterContinental Hotel Berlin, Germany. Registrations will be considered and confirmed in the order of their arrival. When you submit your order request and credit card payment details, we will respond with an e-mail acknowledgement providing you with a customer order number.  This e-mail will constitute our acceptance of your order.

§ 5 Hotels

All participants are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements. A contingent of rooms will be reserved at a special rate for conference attendees in the InterContinental Hotel Berlin, Germany. To take advantage of the discounted rate, we recommend that conference participants make their hotel booking as early as possible. When booking the hotel, please state the booking code provided by the hotel for conference participants. For reservations made after 2nd of May 2018, the discounted room rates offered by the conference hotel cannot be guaranteed.

§ 6 Cancellation by the IEC

In case of a cancellation of an event caused by force majeure or other circumstances beyond the control of the IEC, no claims can be raised linked to the realisation of the event. In case of cancellation by the IEC, the IEC is only obliged to refund the participation fees already paid.

§ 7 Cancellations or changes by the participants

Cancellations have to be sent to the IEC in text format. For cancellations received before 2nd of May 2018, a handling fee of 100 EURO will be deducted from the refund. No refund will be possible for cancellations received after 2nd of May 2018.

Substitutions of conference participants may be made at any time by notifying the conference office. If the substitute participant does not meet the same discount requirements as the registered participant, the difference will be charged. Please notify the conference organising office of any name changes of participants in advance.

The conditions for cancellation after 2nd of May 2018 also apply to registered participants who cannot attend the event due to last minute changes in plans.

§ 8 Privacy and Security

Limitation of liability for internal content
The content of our website has been compiled with meticulous care and to the best of our knowledge. However, we cannot assume any liability for the up-to-dateness, completeness or accuracy of any of the pages.

Pursuant to section 7, para. 1 of the TMG (Telemediengesetz – Tele Media Act by German law), we as service providers are liable for our own content on these pages in accordance with general laws. However, pursuant to sections 8 to 10 of the TMG, we as service providers are not under obligation to monitor external information provided or stored on our website. Once we have become aware of a specific infringement of the law, we will immediately remove the content in question. Any liability concerning this matter can only be assumed from the point in time at which the infringement becomes known to us.

Limitation of liability for external links
Our website contains links to the websites of third parties (“external links”). As the content of these websites is not under our control, we cannot assume any liability for such external content. In all cases, the provider of information of the linked websites is liable for the content and accuracy of the information provided. At the point in time when the links were placed, no infringements of the law were recognisable to us. As soon as an infringement of the law becomes known to us, we will immediately remove the link in question.

The content and works published on this website are governed by the copyright laws of Germany. Any duplication, processing, distribution or any form of utilisation beyond the scope of copyright law shall require the prior written consent of the author or authors in question.

Data protection
A visit to our website can result in the storage on our server of information about the access (date, time, page accessed). This does not represent any analysis of personal data (e.g., name, address or e-mail address). If personal data are collected, this only occurs – to the extent possible – with the prior consent of the user of the website. Any forwarding of the data to third parties without the express consent of the user shall not take place.

We would like to expressly point out that the transmission of data via the Internet (e.g., by e-mail) can offer security vulnerabilities. It is therefore impossible to safeguard the data completely against access by third parties. We cannot assume any liability for damages arising as a result of such security vulnerabilities.

The use by third parties of all published contact details for the purpose of advertising is expressly excluded. We reserve the right to take legal steps in the case of the unsolicited sending of advertising information; e.g., by means of spam mail.

§ 9 Fees

By paying the registration fee you are entitled to: 1) attending all conference sessions, the welcome evening & reception, the conference dinner, the social programme, 2) receiving conference documents and a souvenir and 3) participating in lunch as well as consuming beverages and snacks provided during breaks. All extra services and technical tours have to be paid separately.

§ 10 Terms of payment

The participation fee has to be paid immediately upon registration. Accepted payment methods include credit card payment and bank transfer (please note that bank transfer is only possible for Germany). For bank transer, payment must be made in EURO after receiving the invoice.

§ 11 Place of Jurisdiction and Applicable Law

The legal relations of the contracting parties from or in connection with the contract are subordinated to law of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction for legal disputes from or in connection with the contract is Freiberg. If a provision of this contract is or shall become partially or fully invalid or unenforceable, the legal validity of the other provisions shall not be affected by this. The invalid or unenforceable provisions will be retroactively replaced by that valid provision, which would have been agreed on by the parties from an economic point of view, if they had known about the invalidity or unenforceability of this provision when the contract was concluded. The same applies for the case of a legal gap in the contract.

§ 12 Online Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides a platform for the extrajudicial online dispute resolution (ODR platform) accessable under ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/

The Online Dispute Resolution website is an official website dedicated to help consumers and traders resolve their disputes out-of-court. A web form in which you enter the facts online allows the consumer or trader to receive a conciliation proposal as soon as possible.
